Robots That Learn By Watching You
Cognivix is developing AI software that makes industrial robots much easier to train.
Instead of requiring engineers to spend days programming a robot, its AiKit platform lets a worker simply demonstrate an assembly task once. The software combines computer vision, 3D models, and AI to learn the task, allowing compatible robotic arms to repeat it with sub-millimeter precision in just minutes.
The company is targeting manufacturers that need flexible automation for smaller production runs. Cognivix has secured about two million dollars in funding and grants, completed roughly $170,000 in paid proof-of-concept projects, and formed partnerships with Japanese robotics and tech companies including NTT Data and FANUC.
It's also part of the NVIDIA Inception Program and was recognized as one of the "20 Manufacturing Startups to Watch" by StartUs Insights.
